AMD is Preparing Ryzen 9000 ‘X3D’ CPUs, Reveals the Official ASUS Website

AMD Ryzen 9000X3D CPUs are coming soon!

It’s obvious that AMD isn’t going to just stop at the non-X3D CPUs for its latest lineup based on the Zen 5 architecture. The new leak shows that AMD is working behind the scenes to launch Ryzen 9000X3D CPUs. However, the availability and release date aren’t revealed yet.

ASUS website’s source code reveals the Ryzen 9000 X3D chips

While this isn’t the first time the X3D edition for the Ryzen 9000 processors is in the talks, this is surely the first time we have spotted Ryzen 9000X3D CPUs officially on a hardware maker’s website. Recently, ASUS revealed several X870 chipset motherboards and dedicated a microsite to them. However, the information on the front end isn’t the only thing the page contains. X user, @momomo_us spotted that the URL contains information about more products.

It contains the ‘Ryzen 9000X3D’ along with more motherboard chipsets like ‘B850’ and ‘B840’. The URL isn’t the only place where Ryzen 9000X3D processors were mentioned. ComputerBase’s investigation revealed that the page’s source code contains a brief description that mentions Ryzen 9000X3D CPUs explicitly but is hidden on the front end.

The full description states,

ASUS AMD X870E & X870 motherboards are designed to get the most out of AMD Ryzen™ 9000 series X3D processors and are ready for Advanced AI PCs. Featuring exclusive AI technologies, PCIe® 5.0, DDR5 support with NitroPath DRAM and AEMP technologies, USB4® 40 Gbps Type-C support, WiFi 7 and EZ PC DIY designs.

Hence, it’s safe to say that AMD is preparing for the launch of Ryzen 9000X3D CPUs but the reveal date is not yet known. It can take some while before we can see these new chips but these processors will have newer features that aren’t available on the existing X3D chips from the Zen 3 and Zen 4 lineup. Through the 3D V-Cache technology, AMD will increase the L3 cache memory of Ryzen 9000 processors, making them blazing fast in gaming while remaining more power-efficient.

Ryzen X3D chips have always dominated the gaming market since their arrival and to this date, the older lineups keep getting newer X3D chips. A few days ago, we heard about AMD preparing Ryzen 5 5500X3D in the Zen 3 lineup and just yesterday, we heard that Ryzen 7600X3D is set to launch next month. With 3D V-Cache technology, expect the L3 cache size on the mid-range chips to increase at least by 64MB but that will also result in a significant decrease in core clock speeds.

This is due to the stacking design, which forces the company to lower the clocks to maintain good thermals. Nonetheless, X3D chips are still able to maintain much better gaming performance on lower clocks and remain power-efficient. The 9000X3D processors will also need to be priced competitively to the already existing X3D chips since Ryzen 9000 CPUs didn’t provide significant uplifts over their predecessors.
