AMD Navi 44XL GPU Confirmed in the NDB Shipping Manifest

The Navi 44 will be slower than Navi 48

AMD is expected to launch mid-range and budget GPUs in the RDNA 4 family. While there is very little information on what GPUs we can expect, two of them have been confirmed. The recent one is the Navi 44, which is expected to launch along with the Navi 48 GPU.

Navi 44 XL spotted in the NDB Shipping Manifest

AMD can be seen preparing their next-gen RDNA 4 GPUs. While the company isn’t as aggressive in its marketing as the previous generations, it is surely going against NVIDIA’s upcoming budget and mid-range offerings. In a new leak, it has been confirmed that AMD has prepared the Navi 44 GPU for the next-gen lineup.

The popular leaker @Olrak29_ has once again leaked another RDNA 4 GPU, which was seen in the NDB Shipping Manifest. @Olrak29_ is the same person who leaked the Navi 48 GPU previously and this time we can see that the shipping manifest contains the entry of ‘NAVI44XL’ GPU.

The confirmation hasn’t come from AMD itself about any of its RDNA 4 GPUs. It is likely that AMD is working on just two of these GPUs and their variations but won’t be going with the higher-end Navi 41 die. The RDNA 4 GPUs will most likely have several variations of the Navi 44 and Navi 48. Usually, AMD would go with the XL, XT, and XTX variants, and the leaked Navi 44 is the XL variant.

However, the Navi 48 GPU, which was leaked two months ago was the XTX variant, which is supposedly the flagship RDNA 4 GPU. We don’t know yet when will AMD launch the Navi 44 and 48 GPUs but it’s expected that they may be announced at CES 2025. This is at least for the Navi 48 GPU and the Navi 44 may come in the second quarter of 2025.

We expect that the Navi 44 and Navi 48 GPUs will go against NVIDIA’s RTX 5060 and 5070 at max but AMD won’t have anything against the 5080 and 5090 GPUs. It was rumored that NVIDIA is going to release its Blackwell 5000 series at the end of this year but according to the official information, the RTX 5000 series may be delayed since the company isn’t going to ramp up the GPU production until November 2024.
