How to Get Izanagi’s Burden Catalyst in Destiny 2

The Izanagi’s Burden is a well-known powerful gun in Destiny 2 known for its sniping abilities. The gun in itself deals devastating damages in individual shots but can be improved even further in other areas using the Catalyst.

If you can get your hands on the gun itself, you are more likely to dominate your enemies but with the Catalyst mod, you can harness its power with its full potential. To obtain the catalyst, there are certain requirements, and obtaining the Izanagi’s Burden itself requires some criteria.

In this post, we will guide you on where you can get this sniper rifle and how to get its Catalyst to maximize its potential.

Izanagi’s Burden and How to Get It

Shame. Guilt. Fear. We all bear them…“-Ada-1. The Izanagi’s Burden is one of the strongest weapons in the game with an Impact of 70, a Range of 62, and a Stability of 60 points. This exotic sniper rifle was released with the Forsaken Expansion and in order to get it, you need to own the Forsake Pack which is available through the digital store.

Now to obtain this powerful rifle, you need to go to the Tower and turn over to the Monument of Lost Lights. In the Forsaken Exotics, you should be able to find Izanagi’s Burden along with access to exotics from the past. But remember that this rifle comes at a high cost that includes:

  1. 1 Exotic Cipher
  2. 150,000 Glimmer
  3. 2 Ascendant Shards and
  4. 250 Spinmetal Leaves.

Benefits of Izanagi’s Burden Catalyst

Once you get your hands on it, it’s time to obtain its Catalyst which will provide you with a perk called Peerless Edge. This perk increases the Honed Edge damage when four bullets are consumed. The Izanagi’s Burden has the ability to increase the damage through Honed Edge and on top of that you also get a 20% buff with the Catalyst.

The Honed Edge allows you to reload and consume a full magazine to increase the damage in a small amount of time. Peerless Edge gives you an additional 18 points in the range for better accuracy in shooting enemies located far away.

Obtaining Izanagi’s Burden Catalyst

The Izanagi’s Burden Catalyst is rare and may or may not drop soon. While the requirements for obtaining the Catalyst are not fixed, you could be lucky as it can drop after a handful of kills but sometimes it may require hundreds of kills. Essentially, you need to play the Playlist matches and kill non-Guardian enemies.

Once you get it you can upgrade it by killing 500 enemies using the Izanagi’s Burden. It’s best to start with low-level enemies and the Altars of Sorrow on the Moon should be the right spot for you.
