NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 Specs Leaked: RTX 5090 to Feature a 512-Bit 32GB G7 Memory Configuration

The leaked specifications of the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 are looking insane. However, do expect a rise in power requirements as was rumored a few weeks back.

With 21760 Cores and a whopping 32GB GDDR7 Memory, the GeForce RTX 5090 is going to be insanely powerful

For the first time, we have a lot of info about the upcoming NVIDIA Blackwell RTX 50 series GPUs. These leaks are about the flagship GeForce RTX 5090 and the RTX 5080 GPUs, which will take over the current flagship and high-end offerings from the NVIDIA Ada lineup.

The leak comes from the prominent leaker @kopite7Kimi, who has revealed the specs of both GPUs. The GeForce RTX 5090 will supposedly use the ‘GB202‘-300-A1 die and will feature 21760 Cuda Cores. The Cuda Cores are roughly 13% less than what was previously expected(24576 Cores) but are still 33% more than the RTX 4090, which brings 16384 Cuda cores.

Moreover, there are some significant uplifts over the RTX 4090, including the memory configuration, which is expected to bring a wide 512-bit bus width as opposed to the 448-bit thought previously. This allows the RTX 5090 to reach about 32 GB of RAM capacity in total. Moreover, the RTX 5090 will be one of the first GPUs to utilize the faster GDDR7 memory, which by default, runs at 32 GB/s.

As rumored previously, the RTX 5090 is going to feature 600W of TDP, which in some reports was 550W. Nonetheless, 550-600W was expected for the 5090 as the flagship NVIDIA cards have always cared about reaching the best possible performance.

As for the GeForce RTX 5080 GPU, the GPU will feature a ‘GB203‘-400-A1 die and 10752 Cuda Cores. This is a 10.5% increase in Cuda Core count over the RTX 4080 and about 5% over the RTX 4080 Super. The memory configuration is 16GB GDDR7 VRAM on a 256-bit memory bus. So, except for the newer memory type, the RTX 5080 will supposedly bring a similar memory configuration to the RTX 4080 and 4080 Super. It will be, however, a bit more power-hungry with 400W of TDP compared to 320W of RTX 4080/Super edition.

According to some previous reports, the RTX 5090 and 5080 had their designs finalized this month, which coincides with these specs leaks. Keep in mind that NVIDIA hasn’t revealed the official specs or reveal date about the Blackwell gaming GPUs but it’s rumored that the RTX 5090 and some other SKUs are likely going to be released at the end of this year or CES 2025.
